• Joey Mullen becomes the first U.S.-born player to score 500 goals, on March 14 against the Colorado Avalanche.
• Mario Lemieux scores his 600th career goal on February 4 against the Vancouver Canucks.
• Ron Francis scores his 400th career goal March 29 against the Los Angeles Kings.
• Mario Lemieux scores four goals in one period, tying the NHL record for most goals in a period, on January 26 against the Montreal Canadiens.
• Mario Lemieux becomes the ninth player in NHL History to record 1,400 points, on November 30 against the Boston Bruins.
• Jaomir Jagr records his 600th career point January 4 vs Tampa Bay Lighntning.
• Patrick Lalime sets the NHL record for longest unbeaten streak by a rookie goaltender at the start of his career by going 14-2.
